Mare milk has a special composition with a lot of sugars and a low concentration of dry matter. Cow's milk is very different from mare's milk, making cow's milk less suitable for foals. Pavo Foal Milk, on the other hand, is tailored to the specific composition of mare milk and thus meets the need of motherless foals. Motherless foals raised with Pavo Foal Milk develop optimally and are no less than foals that walk with the mare.
Preparation method
✪ Do not make more foal milk than what you need per half day. It is best to warm up or keep warm the already prepared foal milk 'au bain-marie'. Au bain-marie is heating in or above a warm water bath. Take a pan or a bowl with a minimum volume of 1 liter and place it in or above a larger pan with hot water. Heating au bain-marie has a preventive effect against curdling or burning. The foal milk can also be heated using a microwave.
✪ Take a pan with a capacity of at least 1 liter. Add 300 ml of cold water. Fill this with 400 ml of boiling water. You now have 700 ml of water with a temperature of ± 60°C. Add 1 scoop (= 100 grams) of Pavo Foal milk powder and stir until all foal milk powder is dissolved. Add 300 ml of cold water while stirring. You now have 1 liter of hand-warm foal milk (temperature of ± 40°C).
✪ Pavo FoalMilk has a shelf life of 1 year.
